TO CHILDHOOD CANCER
Rusty was diagnosed with metastatic Pineoblastoma brain cancer at the age of four. The manner in which he lived with this horrific disease touched thousands of lives. Rusty lived with courage and valor despite the overwhelming challenges he faced. His unwavering faith inspired us all. When Rusty was told his cancer had returned and there was no cure this was his classic Rusty response, "So it looks like I may be going to heaven a little earlier than we thought. It's cool. Man, I cannot wait to see the baseball field. I bet I can hit a home run on heaven's field. Did you think Jesus knows all the pitches?" Rusty is rounding the bases healed and set free. He is healthy and whole. No more cancer. No more scars. No more surgeries. No more pain. No more suffering.
Third Annual Rusty's Hope Gold Gala
SSaturday, September 29, 2018: You have the incredible opportunity to come alongside the Schultz family in memory of their Rusty, who inspired so much and still, somehow, keeps inspiring. Rusty’s Hope, Inc., is hosting the third annual Rusty’s Hope Gold Gala and you are invited. The Gold Gala will be held Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Sand Creek Country Club in Chesterton, IN from 6 to 11 pm. This event is taking place specifically in September, the month dedicated to Childhood Cancer Awareness, and gold is the color of the awareness ribbon for all childhood cancers. Our honored guest will be Ellie Ewoldt, author of Chase Away Cancer: A Powerful True Story of Finding Light in a Dark Diagnosis. Her son, Chase, was diagnosed with a brain tumor at age 2 and was treated at Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago at the same time as Rusty. They were fast friends. The money raised at the Gold Gala will be going directly to support families like the Ewodlt's and pediatric brain tumor research. Please join for an incredible night of dinner, dancing, and most importantly an opportunity to sow into the hope of finding better treatments and ultimately a cure for pediatric brain tumors. All in memory of our Rusty.
A heartfelt thank you to our incredible Gold Gala sponsors:
